Dave Koivisto

A paraplegic since 1968, Dave was an original founding member of HAGI, serving as the organization’s first Executive Director. Dave has devoted his life to developing services for persons with a disability, specifically in the areas of housing, support care, transportation, and camping via the Wilderness Discovery Centre.

In the last three years, Dave has taken an active approach in establishing a strong financial foundation and returning HAGI back to the consumers. He seeks to increase the HAGI permanent staff to a team of three. With regards to the future, Dave’s ambition is to redevelop a strong active membership at the advisory committee level, ensuring that persons with a disability have a voice in the community.

In his free time, Dave enjoys fishing and camping with his family and friends at “The Goose”.
